Most people confuse these two terms. A job is something that anyone 18 years or older aspires to. It’s a way to make money. You don’t necessarily have to have a skill. You can work as a short order cook at a fast food restaurant, a waitress at a diner or club where alcohol is served, a construction worker on a building project, a truck driver or taxi cab driver or any of hundreds of jobs that you see advertised every day in the Help Wanted columns of the daily newspaper or online.
A career, on the other hand, is a collection of skills that qualify you for a certain type of job. You can take a two year course and become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or a Registered Nurse (RN). Your skills will allow you to work in hospitals, nursing homes, private nursing situations and medical clinics. There are even subdivisions of nursing skills such as psychiatric nursing, obstetrics nursing where you would be working alongside physicians helping with the delivery of babies, surgical nursing where you would be assisting a surgeon. You might want to become a physician, and specialize in many fields of medicine such as cardiology, psychiatry, oncology or ophthalmology. When you ask a question “When will I get a job?” meaning anything that brings in money to pay the rent, utilities, buy food you should immediately answer yourself “Now”. There are many jobs available for those who want to work. However, if you want a career, this will be more difficult because you will have to learn a skill or graduate from college or go to graduate school and get a degree, qualifying certificates and licenses. If you want to practice law you need to go to law school, pass the Bar exam, get a license to practice law in the State in which you reside. That takes time, planning and lots of study and effort, and of course, it also takes a student loan unless you have money to spare. However the end result is more permanent and lucrative than if you just took “a job”. Trying to decide on a career may be difficult. There are so many choices. This is where some psychic advice would help you clarify. A skilled psychic can actually see what would suit you and where your talents lie. Before making a decision and spending hard earned money on an education that would get you into a career, you should have at least one consultation to find out what your own subconscious mind is telling you and where you belong in the scheme of things.
